Rotterdam, the Netherlands | 18 September 2026 , On World Bamboo Day, the 13th World Bamboo Congress (WBC2027) officially launches its new website, opening registration, the global Call for Papers, and new opportunities for organisations to partner with the Congress.

Taking place from 7–11 June 2027 at Theater Zuidplein in Rotterdam, WBC2027 will bring together researchers, growers, producers, manufacturers, engineers, architects, designers, businesses, policymakers and practitioners from around the world.

Under the theme “Shaping Sustainable Futures,” the five-day Congress will create an international meeting point where research, industry, design and cultivation come together through scientific presentations, professional sessions, workshops, exhibitions, networking and public programming.

Call for Papers now open

The World Bamboo Organization invites scientific papers for oral presentation at WBC2027 from researchers and professionals working across the bamboo value chain.Abstracts of up to 350 words can be submitted through the official Congress platform. The abstract deadline is 30 November 2026, with accepted papers contributing to the scientific programme and Congress proceedings.
