WBO Participates in BIO-RETHA 2026 International Conference in Nepal

The World Bamboo Organization (WBO) is pleased to announce its participation in the BIO-RETHA Conference 2026 – Red Panda, Thar & Himalayan Biodiversity International Conference, taking place from April 17–19, 2026, in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Khotang, Nepal .

Under the theme “Regenerating Life Systems: Biodiversity, Ecology, and Community Futures,” the conference will bring together over 500 participants, including researchers, conservationists, policymakers, and community leaders from around the world . The event focuses on protecting fragile Himalayan ecosystems while advancing sustainable livelihoods and nature-based solutions.

The BIO-RETHA Conference builds on the momentum of previous bamboo-focused initiatives and expands into a broader dialogue on biodiversity conservation. Key thematic areas include:
Flagship species conservation (Red Panda, Thar, Pangolin)

Santosh Oinam, a recognized expert in bamboo science and sustainable development, will represent the World Bamboo Organization at the conference.
