A unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global project management and sustainable development.

The World Bamboo Organization (WBO), in collaboration with the Centre for Green Building Materials and Technology (CGBMT), proudly announces the launch of the international call for the position Project Assistant – Intern, Bamboo Cities. This unique program is designed for young professionals and students eager to contribute to sustainability, innovation, and the transformation of urban spaces.
Set to begin in 2025, the program offers a hybrid and international learning experience, including a two-month cultural immersion in India. Selected interns will collaborate with local communities, NGOs, and institutional partners, directly supporting the vision of TheBambooCity©: building a model for sustainable cities where bamboo becomes a cornerstone for economic, environmental, and social development.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will:
Support the preparation and maintenance of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Bamboo Cities.
Develop and track project dashboards (KPIs, milestones, timelines).
Coordinate and design marketing and fundraising campaigns.
Build partnerships with NGOs, government agencies, and private sector actors.
Contribute to sponsorship and partnership proposals
Candidate Profile
WBO is looking for proactive, creative, and well-organized individuals passionate about sustainable development, urban innovation, and cross-cultural collaboration. The program is open to students and recent graduates from diverse fields such as sustainability, architecture, business, social sciences, engineering, public policy, and related disciplines.
The internship provides a monthly stipend, two months of lodging and meals during the India immersion, a certificate of completion, and a letter of recommendation. Interns will also gain hands-on project management experience within a global and mission-driven team.
