As the global construction sector accelerates its transition toward low-carbon, regenerative solutions, bamboo is rapidly emerging as one of the most powerful materials of the future. In response to this shift, the Hands-On Bamboo Construction Workshop will take place in Venice, Italy, from July 8–12, 2026, offering an intensive, real-world learning experience at the intersection of design, engineering, and sustainability.

Organized by Bamboo Architecture Company , VERAS and officially certified by the World Bamboo Organization (WBO), this five-day international workshop is hosted by VERAS – Vignole Renewable Energy & Healthy Agriculture at Isola delle Vignole, a unique living laboratory located within the Venetian Lagoon.

Designed for architects, designers, engineers, builders, academics, and sustainability professionals, the workshop moves beyond theory to deliver hands-on, build-scale experience in bamboo construction. Participants collaboratively design and construct real bamboo structures, exploring organic forms, prefabricated systems, and parametric architectural approaches.

The program combines practical construction with expert-led sessions covering bamboo treatment, structural logic, assembly techniques, and sustainable construction methodologies. Throughout the five days, participants work alongside World Bamboo Ambassadors and international experts, gaining direct insight from professionals actively shaping climate-resilient and regenerative architecture worldwide.

More than a technical training, the workshop functions as a global exchange platform, connecting participants to an international bamboo community and positioning bamboo not as an alternative material, but as a strategic solution for the future of the built environment.

Upon completion, participants receive a WBO-Certified Certificate of Participation, internationally recognized and aligned with global education and professional standards—adding tangible value for careers in sustainable architecture, construction, and development.
