Martín Mortera is an accomplished architect, designer, and social activist with over 14 years of experience in sustainable architecture, specializing in bamboo and adobe construction. He holds a degree from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, with academic exchanges in Colombia and Cuba, enhancing his global perspective on sustainable building practices.
As the Executive Director and CEO of Bamboo Architecture México, Martín has led numerous high-profile construction projects across Mexico, Peru, and India. His portfolio includes work for prestigious clients such as Grupo Four Seasons, Conrad by Hilton, Grupo Hilton, Grupo Garza Blanca, and KAN Tulum, along with collaborations on governmental projects in Mexico. His expertise in sustainable materials has made him a sought-after consultant for private companies, NGOs, and government agencies, ensuring that sustainability remains at the forefront of architectural innovation.
In addition to his architectural achievements, Martín is the Co-Founder of the Oro Verde Bambú Cooperative, founded in 2016. This cooperative promotes an organizational model grounded in alternative education, focusing on nature, the solidarity economy, social security, and human rights. His advocacy extends to the international stage, where he has represented Mexico as a speaker at events in Colombia, Brazil, Peru, the United States, South Korea, India, Chile, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, the Netherlands, and Cuba.
