Many authors have submitted their papers for WBC in time, but not all.  As expected, many authors asked for extension of the deadline.

We therefore extend the deadline to December 1.  Given the short time to the congress, this will be the final deadline.

The reviewing process will start shortly and the authors that have submitted their papers on time, will have more time for resubmitting the papers with reviewers’ comments.

A provisional program with keynote speakers and special sessions will be announced around December 1st.

The World Bamboo Congress itself has been extended!

The WBC Design and Architecture, originally scheduled for Toulouse, France, will now be held in Belgium.  So the structure of the congress is as follows: The first part at the University of Antwerp will be as planned, from 10-13 April.  The second part of the congress (Design & Architecture) will be from 13-15 April, nearby Antwerp at a rural location with plenty of space for bamboo constructions!

The change has been announced only six weeks ago, and since a lot of extra planning is involved, we will announce detailed information (organizing committee, program committee…..) for this part before November 15.

This also means that for this particular session, the deadline for paper submission is later, January 10, 2011. This is a non-extendable date.
