In early December, 2007, WBO's Executive Director, Susanne Lucas, met in Belgium with WBO Director Kamesh Salam to discuss important administrative issues.  The WBO Board of Directors had recently nominated and elected Mr. Kamesh Salam of Guwahati, Assam, India, to the role of President, World Bamboo Organization.  Happily, Mr. Salam accepted! Mr. Salam is the head of the Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre and is dedicated to improving the role of bamboo throughout Southeast Asia. With this new change, Mr. Salam will develop and coordinate the activities of the WBO, while Ms. Lucas devotes her time to public relations and fund-raising.
